Healthiest Processed Foods. RECIPES. Thursday, 1pm ET

processedfoods

Is there such a thing as “healthiest processed food?” Can you buy packaged food that has retained needed naturally sourced nutrients during the processing? What should you look for on the packaging that will assure you it’s a good buy? Fortunately, our guest, Dawn Jackson Blatner, RD, Food and Nutrition Expert, Author of The Flexitarian Diet, has explored these questions and has answers for you. We know busy moms and dads are looking for ways to feed their families healthy foods that they can prepare and put on the table in minutes. And we know how confusing it is to run into a supermarket and figure out what to pull off the shelf and buy. Who has time to read labels? Who do you trust? Join us and have your notepad ready because Dawn and Co-host, Carolina Jantac, RD (Kid Kritics Approved) will give you a guide to the healthiest process foods your family will love!

Come into our Family Food Experts Kitchen with Dawn and Carolina for help on how to shop for the healthiest processed foods with ease! Thursday, 1pm ET, on W4WN.com and W4CY.com.

Brain Food for Mental Sharpness at Any Age! RECIPES. Sunday. 1pm ET on W4WN radio

Book,GrainBrainCookbook

Wait until you hear what our guest, Dr. David Perlmutter, author of the #1 New York Times bestseller Grain Brain, has to say about what foods will and won’t positively affect our brain health. You may have heard the controversy resulting from his declaration that wheat, sugar and carbs have devastating effects on brain function. He further turned upside down the perception that eating foods such as butter (yes, butter), coconut oil, beef, and other sources of good fats are a “no no.” In fact, he says, Yes, they are right foods – all are important for your brain’s short and long term health. Together with co-host, Carolina Jantac, RD (Kid Kritics Approved) we are going to find out why fats, not carbs, are essential for mental sharpness!

We’ll also share some of the 150 delicious nutritious recipes found in Dr. Perlmutter’s newly released The Grain Brain Cookbook. A few caught my eye: Eggs Benedict with Zucchini Pancakes, Almond Crusted Chicken Strips, Grilled Parmesan Tomatoes, Grilled Spiced Flank Steak, and Lemon Souffle Pudding!

Come into our Family Food Experts Kitchen with Dr. Perlmutter, Carolina and me, to learn how to make smart brain food choices! Sunday, 1pm ET, on W4WN.com..

Simply Yummy Raw Food. RECIPES. Thurs. 1pm ET

ChefAndy

CHEF ANDY, Certified Raw Food Chef

When you hear raw food do you say, “Ugh.” Think again! Apples and berries are raw food. So are carrots, lettuce and tomatoes. Question is, how do you make an entire meal out of raw food that is not tasteless and boring? To answer this, our guest, Chef Andy from Juiceataria (Juice Bar and Raw Food Vegan Café), will be in our Family Food Experts Kitchen to share his amazing recipes, his raw food ideas, all of which are full of flavor. How do I know this? For one, originally he was an Italian chef with an Italian Restaurant, Talia’s Tuscan Table so he is gifted at using fresh herbs and spices for seasoning. Better yet, I go to Juiceataria at least once a week for a smoothie, slice of pizza, lasagna or his to-die-for Gelato! I admit, I used to avoid raw food meals. No more! Chef Andy had changed my thinking and he will change yours too! Co-host Carolina will further encourage you with why eating living raw food is a healthy decision. To support this truth, Chef Andy will tell you his personal story of why he turned to raw food to save his daughter’s life.
Come into our Family Food Experts Kitchen with Chef Andy, Carolina and me as devour some simply yummy raw food! Thursday, 1pm ET, on W4WN.com and W4CY.com.
