Family Food Experts

Ellen Briggs

Ellen Briggs, Founder of Family Food Experts, President, Food Consultant, Author, has spent most of her career in sales and marketing in the media, advertising, and natural foods industries. She began her Better Food Choices education as a child. Her mother refused to succumb to the original Wonder Bread and T.V. Dinner trends. Organic gardens were found in her family’s yard, a novelty at the time. Over time, all of this made an impression on Ellen. She followed her mother’s better choices lifestyle when she became mother of Deirdre and Justin. After thirty years of either working or being a stay-at-home mom, Ellen started a food consulting business. She began working directly with mothers and kids, guiding them through grocery stores in search of Better Food Choices kids would eat. The foundation of the Better Food Choices concept and related publications and programs were built on these experiences. It has evolved into the Family Food Experts, home of the Kid Kritics Approved Seal. Thousands of hours have been spent with kids, running Kid Kritics Taste Tests, listening to their responses, educating them on food as well as interacting and speaking with moms and dad.  She hosted the Better Food Choices Radio show and now hosts the Family Food Experts Network with four other blog mom health professionals.  In addition she gives seminars and speaks to large and small groups of moms to help them make better food choices.  Her books are Are Your Kids Running on Empty? and the CD Cookbook, Mom, I’m Hungry. What’s for Dinner? Ellen has 2 grown children, 3 grandchildren a following of thousands.  Ellen knows kids!

Stacey Antine is a registered dietitian who holds a Master’s of Science in Food, Nutrition and Dietetics from New York University.  Alarmed by the long list of lifestyle diseases (obesity, heart disease, diabetes, etc.) faced by children today, she founded HealthBarnÒ USA, Inc. to connect children to natural foods and where they come from.

Stacey Antine teaches a wildly popular “Try it, you’ll like it” school assembly program nationwide. Due to the success of the program, Life in Sync, an established nonprofit 501c3 organization has approved HealthBarn USA to be its first recipient to receive funding to help combat the obesity epidemic and diseases associated with weight gain. The positive impact of HealthBarn’s programs is proven effective by research conducted by Columbia University’s Teachers College, the leading nutrition education research institute.

With over 20 years of experience in the field of food and nutrition, and a successful track record of helping thousands of families change their eating habits from fast food to natural food, Stacey Antine, M.S., R.D. is an expert who parents and kids can agree on.  Stacey Antine has been featured on The Rachel Ray Show, named women entrepreneur to watch by Business Week, and featured as “Our Hero” by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics for her dedication to children’s health.
