Andrew Spiegel, co-founder and CEO Colon Cancer Alliance, CANCER S.O.S., Mon., July 16th, 2:00 p.m. EST on www.W4WN.com and www.W4CS.com

My guest is Andrew Spiegel, co-founder and CEO Colon Cancer Alliance. He focuses on colorectal cancer through increasing awareness, promoting screening, educating the public, patients and healthcare providers about the disease, increasing advocacy and supporting research. Unfortunately, most colorectal cancers are “silent” tumors. They grow slowly and often do not produce symptoms until they reach a large size. Fortunately, colorectal cancer is preventable, and curable, if detected early. Colorectal cancer usually begins as a polyp. Many people postpone or neglect colonoscopies because they don’t like the test. While it’s nothing that any of us want to do, not having the screening–especially after the age of 50 or with a family history of colon cancer–is dangerous. Join me to discuss this important topic!
