THE IMPORTANCE OF COUNSELING SUPPORT FOR THE CANCER FAMILY
My very special guest is Ben Weast (MA, LPC, NCC, CT), a medical family therapist at the Duke Cancer Institute, Duke University Hospital. Ben provides counseling support to patients, their family members, and caregivers primarily with lung cancer, head/neck cancer, sarcoma, or melanoma. It takes a village to survive cancer, and Ben represents part of that village—offering critical support during the hardest times imaginable—no matter what the outcome may be. Ben has offered support to hundreds of cancer families at Duke, including my own family when we walked that difficult terminal lung cancer path.
