Vintner Michele Charlo- Italy’s Piemonte Pioneer

On the November 11, 2015 episode of The Connected Table LIVE!, show co-host David Ransom will be coming live to our listeners from the Italian region of Piemonte, Italy. Our guest, and David’s host for the week, will be the legendary producer Michele Chiarlo, who has been crafting wines in the Langhe region of Piemonte, home to Barolo, since 1956. Back then production and distribution was pretty much limited to the region. In the 1980s, Chiarlo is credited with modernizing the region’s winemaking production and expanding distribution as demand started to grow and style preferences changed.
