Today the full moon is the closest to the earth that it has been in 68 years and will not get this close again until 2034. Hopefully your skies will cooperate and you will have a front row seat to this amazing event. Besides the scientific significance there is also a personal note to discuss. This full moon is in the sign of Taurus. Taurus is an fixed earth sign which means it focuses on our sense of safety and security. Ruled by Venus, it seeks beauty, comfort, and overall enjoys the finer things in life. Having a sun sign in Taurus I can relate to all of this. We like our stuff! So what does this mean for you? It is a great time to enjoy all the pleasures life has to offer. Maybe do something decadent just for yourself.
Full moon energy is also a time to examine your life and where it is going. Are there things or people you would like to release? The full moon beckons you to take a look and let go. If you set an intention in the new moon energy on November 14, how did that work for you? How did your thoughts guide your progress?
If you love crystals like I do, the full moon does a great job in charging them. What that means is that you can set your stones outside under the brilliant light of the moon. Sit with them for a moment and set an intention that they be cleansed and useful in the ways that you see fit. Then if it is practical leave them there overnight. The next day your crystals will be sparkling with your intention and cleared with the full moon energy.
Keep in mind that full moon energy is powerful three days before and three days after the event. Use this time for some soul searching. Insomnia often accompanies full moon energy so you may have extra time to do some meditating, journaling and self nurturing. We are entering a time of hectic energy with the holidays approaching. This energy can fill you up and prepare you for the days ahead.
