The Beginning of Party Season

We are coming into the Halloween Weekend. I don’t have to go all the way back to my childhood for fond memories of this holiday. Actually, I think I have had more fun with it as an adult than I did when I was a kid. Don’t get me wrong, I had lots of fun as a kid Trick or Treating! All that candy! Toilet papering homes! Throwing eggs at passing by cars! Of course we did that immortal prank with setting fire to the brown bag( You all know what I am referring to)But as an adult, the escape from everyday life was more intense. Discarding the corporate clothing and be able to spend a night in fantasyland is the ultimate diversion from work, relationships and kids! A side note to this is as my kids get older, I follow their progression in what we have experienced years before. They are outgrowing the “kids Party” of Halloween and starting the “Adult Party” of the holiday. I remember years ago, but not so long ago, I had a Halloween party in Chelsea section of Manhattan. For those of you not familiar with that area, it is an area and the type of party you would see on the E Channel or VH1- MTV. Well, there we were. About 45 professionals. All dressed up as everything from the devil to an angel, From cowboy to a Box of M&M’s. Happy to remember the one woman who came as a Playboy Centerfold. Can’t remember her name, but she definitely stayed in my memory. Well, around 2in the morning there was a knock on the door. A friend, dressed as Peter Pan( green tights, hat and pixie powder) opens the door and sees 2 cops standing at the threshold. His conversation went something like this: “to the cops” Hey guys, Great costumes” the Police replied” Sorry Peter, No Costumes! This is the real McCoy”. Initially he panicked until one of the officer said” Look, No problems here, but some of the old people in the building complained of the noise. Do us a favor. Just tone it down a bit. We don’t want to have to come back”. Well, for the next 1/2 hour we toned it down and then went right back to the partying decibel as before. Great Party! Great memory.
Now, with all the shows on W4CY and the media events we participate at, we get involved various ways with Halloween. Yesterday Dean had Fright Nights on his show. Currently at the South Florida Fairgrounds. Danny Ryde from FanBase is doing stuff with The Haunted Halls of Horror in Del Ray. I know the shows here at W4CY.com will be addressing the Halloween scenarios over the next few days. Personally, it’s a Halloween spine tingling show at the Lake Worth Playhouse on Friday and some private and Restaurant parties on Saturday.
Got something special planned? Call in today and tomorrow to just about any show and let us know what you are doing this 2009 holiday.
Not only am I planning on the events for this weekend, but as far as I am concerned, this is the ” Official Start of Party Season” It always seems as once Halloween comes around, there are Holiday parties each week through New Years.
Although we will be in touch and hopefully speaking with each other over the upcoming weeks, I want to relay the wishes for a safe, fun and memory making holiday to all. From Myself as well as the staff of W4CY- “Trick or Treat with care- Enjoy it”
